Recommend Dishes: Orata Al Forno sea bream & potatoes
Via Carota is a SuPa SuPa cute tapas restaurant in West Village. My another favorite tapas place is Buvette which also located in West Village. Worst part of both places are they don’t accept reservation! Good Luck 🙂
The Empellon team (Al Pastor, Cocina, Taqueria) now has three locations in New York City. The newest taco bar, called Empellon Al Pastor, just opened in October on the corner of St. Marks and Avenue A. Empellon Cocina serves modern Mexican and is also in the East Village. Tonight I was at their original restaurant, Empellon Taqueria, in the West Village where they specialize in tacos.
Let me tell you my prego girlfriend, Michelle, had a blast. She used to love tapas food and wine, but since becoming pregnant she can’t drink, eat cheese, cured meat, or raw seafood. So she went cray cray ordering three different kinds of tacos plus reordering another plate of fish tacos again. Damn ~ #PregoGoneWildOverTacos
Here is what I enjoyed. We tried three different kinds of tacos and two appetizers. I must say these were the best fish tacos I ever had. Even better than tacos I had in Mexico. But my two favorite dishes from dinner were the Shrimp (shrimp chorizo, nugget potato, serrano salsa) and theDiver Scallop (cucumber, tomatillo, mezcal) from the appetizer menu . The scallops were raw so she Michelle cheated a little bit. hehe 🙂
I highly recommend that you order these three dishes the next time you visit Empellon in the West Village.

I came with my friend for dinner when weather was super cold. He wanted to try ”Grilled Guinea Hen” so we had but we both didn’t care for this dish at all. Spaghetti Carbonara was OK yet nothing memorable. The best dish from my dinner was Bob’s Steamed Clams & Mussels, Green Chilies, Tomato, Fresh Mint & Olive Crostino for sure. I normally avoid to order Mussels, I found it Mussels are quite boring. This dish got great broth and little neck clams were yum!

Jeffrey’s Grocery is located on Waverly Place and corner of Christopher street in West Village. This area is one of most charming part of in New York city ♥
West Village Empire Builder Gabe Stulman, who now run 6 different restaurants in West Village and Greenwich Village area. I’m sure you had been to some of his restaurants if not Jeffrey’s Grocery. Joseph Leonard, Perla, Fedora, Montmartre and they closed Chez Sadine this summer and reopened as Bar Sardine.
Jeffrey’s Grocery is focusing on seafood and American fare. Famous dish is Poached Lobster Pasta broken spaghetti, clams, leeks and tomato $39. It’s expensive yet portion is big and great pasta to share with friends.
