Sushi Omakase at ”Sushi Dojo”

Sushi Dojo    110 1st Ave ( b/t 6 St & 7 St ) NYC

Who said only Japanese can muster the art of sushi!? Congrats to owner/Sushi chef David Bouhadana *\(^_^)/* Sushi Dojo serves authentic Japanese cuisine and specialize in OMAKASE. If you’re expecting a California roll and Dragon roll then this is not the right place for you. David trained at one of fancy Japanese spots, 15 EAST in Union Square and Hatsuhana in Midtown. I didn’t sit in front of David at the sushi counter this time, but my chef Makoto Yoshizawa was fantastic!! First he asked me my preference of fishes so I told him I prefered Red Snapper, Fluke, Sea Bass over Hamachi and Saba and other fatty white fishes. Then I asked him what kind of clam they had. They had two of my favorite clams which are Aoyagi and Migugai. YAY!! and my last request was Uni & Ootoro.  I had a Sushi & Sashimi Omakase for $75 with Hakkaisan Sake. Sushi Dojo’s atmosphere is nothing special yet quality of sushi are LOVELY ~~~ xoxo

Fette Sau

Fette Sau

BBQ at ”Fette Sau” in Brooklyn

Photo_2

Mini trip to Williumburg Brooklyn (^_^) 5 minutes cab ride from my LES shop crossing the bridge. Actually I came this barbecue joint last April and I forgot to blogged about them. Thanks goodness undercover cutie patroller member Jane came here and reminded me about this BBQ spot and she took photos for me. Fette Sau means fat pig in German slung. I remembered this place was packed with Brooklyn hipster and foodie and  tourist both indoor and outdoor space. The place’s deco is like engagingly bare bones, having been transformed from a former auto-repair garage. For a barbecue place, the beer & Whiskey selection of drink’s menu are surprisingly sophisticated. I had a sampler plate with spicy broccoli for side. I thought beef brisket was best one and second best one was pork belly.

Le Philosophe

www.philosophe.com      55 Bond St, ( btwn Bowery & Lafayette St ) NYC

Le Philosophe just opened a few month ago on my favorite street “Bond St”. I have to say this place is my new favorite french restaurant  in downtown NYC. The place is very casual, cute, cozy and interesting menu. Wine sellection are wide and OMG reasonable ( started under $30 for bottle ). You must order these two appetizer. Frog Legs and Pig trotter. They aren’t just interesting! They’re really tasteful. I am definitely not a fan of frog but it was the best frog dish I ever had. Pig trotter with lentils was great winter comfort dish. As for the dessert four of us share Profiterole and it was perfect way to end our meal.

Super Pink Lipstick Sunday at L’Apicio

Photo

I had great Sunday dinner at this modern Italian restaurant in the East Village. This large restaurant has sleek and minimalist deco. L’Apicio is run by same peoples who run Dell’ Anima and L’Artusi in West Village. L’Apicio is known for their pasta dishes as is Dell’Anima yet I didn’t order any pasta dishes this time ……I wasn’t in the mood for it. Guess what!!! When I blogged about Dell’ Anima in the past the polenta dish was the only dish that disappointed and I gave one heart rating but this time at L’Apicio I have to take it back!!! They serve four different kind of polenta Alla Spianatora and I had roasted mushroom and it was so yummy ~ Next time I will try their famous pasta dishes so stay tuned…… xoxo
