New Modern Korean Restaurant ”Oiji” East Village

Oiji is a new modern Korean restaurant in the East Village, unlike the other Korean restaurants such as the ones in K Town. I came here for dinner Saturday with my friend Eva ( City Baby Dining ). The ambiance was very cute and cozy, perfect place for any night of the week. They have one large table in middle of restaurant for larger group (maybe for 8 to 10 peoples). Other than that they have smaller tables of 2 and 4. All the plates are tapas style and perfect for sharing. Me and Eva shared three dishes and Beef Tartare with ramp aioli was delicious and artfully crafted. Fried Chicken with spicy soy vinaigrette was good but nothing special. For sure my favorite was the Ssam Platter with spicy pork and gang-deon-jang. It was so lovely to meet two talented chefs.  Co owner chef Brian and chef TK. I will definitely be coming back to try more dishes soon 🙂

The Bao

One Of The Best Soup Dumpling ”Bao” in NYC


I came here with no expectations and guess what!? All the foods were very good and so cheap. I knew place is known for great soup dumplings but I really enjoy Mapo Tofu and Sautéed Snow Pea. Lamb with Cumin spicy was bit too salty but good. I always order Beef Tripe in Chinese restaurant and this one was not the best but good enough. 小籠包 Pork and Crab both dumplings were excellent!!

Goodbye 7A  & Hello Miss Lily’s

Miss Lily’s first location is East Houston street and now they took over former 7A Cafe’s space in Avenue A and corner of 7th street. I was here for snacks and drink another night. I had several times dinner at Greenwich location. Menu is pretty much same maybe a few dishes are different from original Miss Lilly’s. My both JERK CHICKEN and FISH TACOS were excellent and they were perfect snacks for my night with my drinks. Jamaican foods are not my favorite so I won’t come back here for full dinner but definitely I will stop by again for snacks (^_^)
