Part 1 – Pasta lunch patrolling report!!

I tried 4 different kind of pasta. Bolgole, Rigatoni Pitti, Penne Strascicate, ( Pappardelle Alla Fiesolana I was very hungry and I forgot to take a picture…. sorry it was really good ) Best pasta was today’s special “Bolgole” for sure!!! right now is clam season so if you see it on the menu you must order!!!! Supa SuPa good (^_^)

Gemma is located at Bowery Hotel and only a few blocks away from my house. Perfect outdoor seat in spring & summer time. I often come here for dinner also cocktail at next door lobby bar. Their rooftop room is SuPa cute and open for special event & party. Sometime I forget to blog about some of neighborhood places and my photos are from late night menu. I just had OMG stylish dining at Caffe Storico (^0^)”””Caffè Storico in the New York Historical Society located on Upper West Side. Yup, Cutie Patroller crossed the border past 34 St. for this OMG new restaurant!!! I decide every few months I’m reporting crossed border some supper special spot if I find any!!! My last uptown report was the iconic Plaza Hotel, The Plaza Food Hall by Todd English. Caffe Storico opened in December by Stephen Starr, the mega-restaurateur who owns Morimoto and Buddakan here and a sizable empire of restaurants in Philadelphia. If you are expecting another uptown version of Buddakan this isn’t case. This place brings casual elegance to museum & neighborhood with chef Jim Burke’s authentic Italian cuisine. This place was as part of the $65 million, three-year-long renovation of the NYHS. I have to say they did great job with this place. Pure white walls, super high-ceilinged with brass chandelier, lemon yellow banquettes, a window into the sculpture arcade, open kitchen and a marble table, nineteenth-century china from museum collection adorn shelves with victorian-style woodwork that soar 15 feet to the ceiling…..Oh!! M Gggggggggggg sooo lovely!!!!!!! My stylish dinner reservation was 7:45 on Friday night with partner in crime Kim.  As soon as I walked in I was soooo satisfied of my choice for this special uptown patrolling report. Place was busy and the vibe so classy.  I started my dinner with glass of wine to compliment my rabbit porchetta and burrata with artichoke appetizers. Both dishes were very good and then I moved to the Ricotta Cavatelli, with lobster and black-trumpet mushrooms. I was going to order chef’s signature pappardelle with duck ragù, shaved chocolate and orange but I had enough meat in my order so I changed my mind. You must order one of pasta dish because this place is known for their handmade pasta.  They use four ounces of lobster and it was so meaty and flavorful.  Pasta’s shape is like a worm looking… (Don’t  get scared!! Soo good). I ended my dinner with giant size veal Osso Buco with Polenta. Of course me and my date Kim finished it up. Yup I told you I’m 90 pound skinny pig in the city but can EAT!!!  We had to skip dessert….. because we had 10:30 reservation for drink & snack time at another place otherwise I would have ordered two and cappuccino. I must say Caffe Storico is now one of reason to come visit UWS for sure. I recommend for any occasion like a cute date, birthday with 4-5 friends or just two. I can’t wait to come back here for girl power lunch or weekend brunch soon, I can imagine how lovely this place is in daylight with this decor and gorgeous big window.
