Korean Ramen & Ho’ Cake at ”Mokbar”

The only thing that could warm me up right now is Spicy Kimchi‬ Ramen‬ at Mokbar 🍜

Mokbar is located at inside of Chelsea Market in Meatpacking District. I ate so many different kind of Ramen before yet this was my first time eating Korean Style Ramen ( except instant noodle Shin Ramyun ). Three of us shared three different kind of Ramen and a few appetizers. Also we had Saki and Marc A.K.A NY Journal had a Makgeolli #Cheers ~ 🍶

I had to try Black Ramen and Spicy Tofu Ramen as food blogger. They were very unique and delish but my favorite Ramen was Kimchi Ramen. If you’re fan of Mapo Tofu and spicy food you will love Spicy Tofu Ramen. It was #HotHotHot 🔥🔥🔥

BUT more than Ramen, more than dumplings or Disco Fries ”Ho’ Cake” was OMG delish and only $6!! I have never had a Ho’ Cake before and now I’m so in love with this cute bun with yummy dipping sauce 🙂 I started new page called ”Bucket Dish” on Tabelog (www.tabelog.usBucket Dish is a special dish that worth traveling across the world just to eat. I am so ~ adding this dish on BucketDish of New York City.

Blue Bottle expanded to several cafés at locations around San Francisco. Blue Bottle opened its first New York location in 2010, also opened in Tokyo’s Kiyosumi neighborhood last year 2014 🙂

I love my new coffeemaker from CHEMEX. It’s pure design 🙂

CHEMEX Since 1980

The Chemex Coffeemaker was invented in 1941 by Dr. Peter Schlumbohm PhD. Made simply from non-porous, borosilicate glass and fastened with a wood collar and tie, it brews coffee without imparting any flavors of its own. On permanent display at MOMA NY and other fine museums, it is truly a work of art. Read more

Ootoya Ootoya

My lunch spot ”Ootoya”

Kaasan Ni breaded and deep fried chicken and sliced onion is topped with poached egg and grated radish. served in a soy sauce infused broth 17 ♥♥♥

Ootoya is Japanese restaurant chain from Japan. Now they has two different locations in NYC. I don’t come here for dinner but I often stop by for lunch if I’m in Bryant Park area in Midtown. Atmosphere of both places are pretty nice. Specially me knowing how Ootoya are in Japan. Ootoya is quick and cheap, under ten dollars meal kind of restaurant in Japan but here in NY they serves more like $20 for combination meal. Which all the meal comes with Chawanmushi (steamed egg custard ), Miso soup, Rice, Pickles. Quality of foods are very good. Actually better than Japan! My favorites are Chicken Katsu set and Grilled fish set.

TAO Downtown

Tao Downtown

TAO downtown 369 West 16th Street, ( corner of 9 Ave ) at Marotime Hotel, NYC

TAO Downtown opened one month ago inside the Maritime Hotel across the street from Buddakan in Meatpacking District. Buddakan has been around for quite long time as a giant Asian fusion venue. TAO is also known as the same so…. hehehe (^_^) we will see how they are going to compete with each other. If you are expecting any out of town guests, then you should take them to TAO for dinner or just cocktails. Also the place is great place to have a birthday dinner this year when it is still new & hot. The venue is impressive and entertaining. They have one main dining room and two lounge areas. I like the open lounge area in front of the sleeping Buddha statue better than the back room bar area because you can enjoy the view of the whole venue. They have walk-in table service so you don’t need to make reservation, while enjoying the full food menu. The whole venue will seat up to 400!!! TAO group is ready to make ($_$) chin-chin-chin

Ps- You MUST order Miso Glazed sea bass from appetizer!!! YUM

Le Grainne Cafe

Momoya 185 7th Ave, New York 10011 (At 21st St)
Momoya is a very cute Japanese restaurant located in Chelsea. The place is open-front, minimalist deco; not a giant space like MORIMOTO and NOBU, but the decor isn’t necessarily Oriental like most of the other Asian East Village restaurants. It’s sleek, has clean modern lines, and I like the way it looks. In terms of food it’s not spectacular but the price isn’t high; quite average for a Japanese restaurant. They don’t take reservations and the place always seems to be very busy so maybe try calling first. One dish I highly recommend to order is the Miso Black Cod for an appetizer. It’s small -so not for table sharing (sometimes Cutie Patroller is greedy and hungry!) but excellent in taste. This is a great cute place to have dinner or lunch with friends or on a date. PS – They recently opened a second place Uptown.
