Cute Tapas Spot “Estela” in Nolita
Burrata with salsa verde and charred bread $15
Estela 47 E. Houston St ( between Mott St & Mulberry St ) NYC
I’m usually not a fan of tapas bars, but Estela is my exception. This place opened a few month ago in my neighborhood in Nolita. The place is small, cute and Chef Ignacio Mattos serves great food with a unique twist. Scallop sashimi with avocado puree and yuzu was clean & refreshing. Beef tartar with sunchoke and wasabi was the most memorable beef tartar I have ever had. Grilled squid was good too. Unfortunately, I didn’t like Lamb chop at all “(>_<)” I came here twice and it seems the menu changes often. I think this is the perfect place to meet with friends after work for good quality tapas and nice selection of vino.
