Pylos 128 E 7th St

Pylos is a cute greek restaurant located in the East Village. This resty is a great place for a date, friends, or to bring the parents (yes, I say with parents because the crowd is not too young or hipster.) Pylos is small, cute, and elegant with great food; but maybe not so much for big groups. Many years ago I had my birthday gathering here but I don’t remember it as perfect for that occasion. As soon as you walk in this place you will see the whole ceiling is all covered by ceramic vases. The front room is nice but my favorite is the back room. It’s a better atmosphere with great energy by the regular table and counter tables. How many cute greek restaurants do you know of in the city ? Compared with Italian restaurant and other cuisines, there isn’t many great Greek eateries to choose from. I don’t come here often, but if someone were to ask me my recommendation for a good Mediterranean restaurant I would recommend Pylos. It’s great food, a cute space, and the price is fair. This time my order was a bit off, so please don’t get an idea of what to order by my food photos. The Lamb Chops are classic and was perfectly marinated and cooked but it wasn’t my personal top choice. I do recommend to order the Roasted Red Pepper filled with spicy feta and Lamb Shank for sure !!!

Htapothi Scharas classic grilled, marinated octopus with a balsamic reduction sauce and capers  $14 ♥♥♥


 Mavro Lavraki Ston Fourno whole black sea bass, oven braised and served with seasonal vegetables $27
