www.apizz.com – 217 Eldridge street
Apizz is located on a hidden LES street call Eldridge Street (a few blocks from Cutie Room ); it is from Chef-owner John La Femina, the former partner of Peasant. Let’s start with the food – great menu, and the food is delicious. One shocking dish I discovered my last visit here was Beef Short Ribs Gnocchi… I really don’t order gnocchi, gnocchi is just not my thing. But I really have to say this dish is exceptional !! The oven baked fish is also amazing and ‘a must order’. One small negative comment I have is their famous flat bread pizza…. it’s not all that !! They do have many choices of wonderful salads, for instance Octopus Salad and Crispy Prosciutto Pear Salad, but during this visit I was sharing plates with a friend and I behaved, going more conservative, so we had boring Romaine Hearts Salad “(>_<)”. No comment on whom has this boring taste in food…..Lol. For the atmosphere, it is a warm inviting decor accentuated by an open stove that warms the place. The ambiance is just right for a winter meal that begins with a glass of wine. There are separated rooms, but the best room is the main dinning room so make sure you don’t get a table side room or downstairs (^_^).
