www.gentlemanfarmernyc.com – 40 Rivington St (at Forsyth and Eldridge Streets)
Cutie Room‘s hood-patrolling report is here (^_^). I want to welcome this teeny, tiny French restaurant that opened last year in my neighborhood next to the cute wine bar Jadis . When I was there I could see the chef & owner cooking by himself with his sous chef in this tiny 5’x5′ kitchen; so you can imagine how intimate this 10 table, 20 seat place is. This place has a great food & wine selection. The Pate had an interesting twist-more in the style of shepherd’s pie. The Pear Purse was a great savory dish. The Beef Tenderloin with Foie Gras entree was perfection, with a really generous size as you can see pictured below. I like places like this where every dish feels personal, made from the chef’s own hand. I recommend Gentleman Farmer for a date or friends, but remember the space is petite, like you are at somebody’s intimate dinner party.
